Build a box

Mix your heat.

Choose a box, then paint every bag with the level you want. Code Red and Code Blue bags carry a small surcharge — the peppers cost more than the potatoes.

Our story

Born in a hot chicken kitchen, raised on potatoes.

Wooboi Hot Chips is a 2026 testing startup out of Tysons Corner, Virginia, built by the crew behind Wooboi Hot Chicken. The idea is simple: put the pepper blends people line up for onto a kettle chip you can ship anywhere.

We slice Virginia-grown potatoes thick, kettle-fry them in small batches, and season them while they're still hot so the pepper sticks. Every bag is 2 ounces, because anything bigger and you'd stop tasting the chip. The chips aren't on restaurant menus yet — for now, this site is the only place to get them.

Questions

Before you burn.

Can I really put a different level on every bag?

Yes. Pick any box size, then paint each bag with whatever level you like — 47 Level 1s and one Code Blue for your brother-in-law is a perfectly valid box.

Why do Code Red and Code Blue cost extra?

Ghost pepper mash and Carolina Reaper extract cost a lot more than cayenne. Code Red adds $3 per bag and Code Blue adds $6 per bag on top of the box price.

How is shipping calculated?

By weight and distance. A box of 12 bags weighs about 1.5 lb of chips plus packaging; 48 bags is around 6.5 lb shipped. We pull parcel rates from ParcelMonkey based on your ZIP code and show the estimate in your cart before you pay.

Is Code Blue actually safe?

It's food, but it's very hot food. We don't recommend Code Blue for kids, and we mean it about the gloves. Milk, yogurt or ice cream cools it faster than water.

Can I buy the chips at a Wooboi Hot Chicken restaurant?

Not yet. Wooboi Hot Chips is a separate testing startup, so the three restaurants don't stock them right now — order here and we ship from Tysons Corner. The restaurants are still the place to go for the chicken.
